Owner & President
As owner and President of Wood Safety Consultants, Inc., Pinkie Wood is responsible for the day-to-day operations. This entails working with clients to improve the safety culture of their organizations through training, audits, plan review and other safety related items. She assists organizations with anything relating to OSHA or VOSH inspections and can serve as the client’s company representative for explaining and showcasing the client’s organization for safety award submission or for other items that the client may need.
Pinkie began her career in the Health and Safety industry as an EMT. In September of 1986, she joined the Navy where she honed her skills in preventative maintenance and management, eventually being placed in charge of safety for her division, until she was Honorably Discharged in 1993. Pinkie then went to work for a trucking company from 1993-1995, where she trained drivers and dispatchers in the HM-181 certification for hauling hazardous materials. In 1995, Pinkie made the transition to the construction industry as an on-site safety representative, rising over the years to the Corporate Safety Director level to now owning her own company. She has worked for and with many companies around the Hampton Roads area, building a career and reputation that she can be proud of.
She is an instructor for most of our courses and is certified in (and not limited to) CSHM, CSST, OMT and CST. She specializes in Fall Protection, Trenching and Excavation, OSHA 10/30, and several others. As an added bonus,
she is fluent in Spanish and can teach any of our courses in Spanish.
In her free time, she enjoys time with her family both here and in Wisconsin, spending time with her husband (who you all know as Dexter) and traveling around the world!
