Thomas Sessoms

Site Safety and Health Officer

Thomas Sessoms is our newest member here at WSC.  He was born and raised here in the Tidewater area.  He has a BS in Management from Methodist University.  As a recent retiree from the Portsmouth Fire Department, he comes to us with extensive knowledge and experience with HAZMAT emergency mitigation and prevention due to his time spent as a Virginia Department of Emergency Management Safety Specialist and serving on a Regional Hazmat Response Team.  He was also a VA Dept of Fire Programs Instructor and hold an advanced National Registry EMT certification.

He comes to us holding numerous accolades from his time serving the community of Portsmouth including: 2021 Portsmouth Fire, Rescue, & Emergency Services Firefighter of the Year, 2021 American Legion Post 190 Outstanding Public Service Award, and 2020 Rotary Club of Portsmouth Public Safety Employee of the Year

When he's not on the job site, his favorite thing to do is travel with wife and 2 sons, especially camping and going to Washington Commanders football games.
